Who we are

USA Country Sourdough began in our home kitchen, born from a deep love of good bread.

I’ve always been happiest working in the kitchen, so when our lives got turned upside when my wife was laid off from her corporate job I turned to baking as a way to bring some calm into our days. Being Bay Area natives, we missed the tang and chew of a real sourdough loaf —something we just couldn’t find here in North Carolina. So, I set out to make it myself.

Over eight months, I carefully developed and nurtured my own starter (his name is Elroy, and was born 11/11/2024), perfected my dough, and fell completely in love with the process. What began as a hobby became a calling.

We stretched to invest in a small professional oven and a sturdy baker’s mixer, and now—after dozens of test loaves, early mornings, and plenty of locally-sourced organic flour—USA Country Sourdough is here.

We make just one thing: real, organic sourdough bread. Hand-crafted, long-fermented, and baked fresh in small batches. each loaf is unique, but all our loaves are honest, nourishing, and made with love.
